Dear Winthrop Families:
Happy Holidays! I want to wish everyone a safe and restful break. We’ll see you on January 2nd when classes resume. I’d like to thank Mrs. Batchelder and Mrs. Kilpatrick for once again organizing and leading this year’s Holiday Bazaar. The students look forward to this Winthrop tradition every year. I’d also like to thank everyone for their donations to the Annual Giving Tree. Our Winthrop families always express their appreciation for the generosity and support of the community. This Friday, December 22nd, students will be dismissed at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) Lunch will be served.
Congratulations to Ms. McEntee and our students for a terrific performance at our annual Winter Concert last Friday. It was a great way to bring in the holiday spirit and showcase our Winthrop students’ talent. Also, check out our MEF Schoolhouse Rock Stars. Congratulations, Ms. Mazzei, Mrs. Malaguti, Mrs. Constantine, Ms. Wilcox, and Mrs. Orlofski! http://winthrop.melroseschools.com/2017/12/mef-schoolhouse-rock-stars/#sthash.R2H3WCEV.dpbs
If you are on Twitter, please follow me at my new username John Maynard @WinthropMPS. I hope to highlight the great things happening in our Winthrop classrooms and within the Melrose community in the coming months. It’s also a great way to connect with the Melrose School community in general.
Finally, check out our REACH Stars for the week of December 11th. Our students earn their REACH Stars for demonstrating one of our core values: respect, effort, achieve cooperation and honesty. The students’ names are announced during our Friday morning announcements. Our kindergarten and first-grade teams host our next REACH assemblies on Thursday, January 11th. http://winthrop.melroseschools.com/2017/12/reach-stars-55/#sthash.hEcDu9Yr.dpbs
