Fundraising/Ways and Means
The Ways and Means Committee decides on the fundraising activities for the year. This crucial committee delivers the funds for our PTO activities throughout the school year.
Help organize a day-long shopping event for the kids. Purchasing stock, organizing tables, coordinating volunteers and of course, helping the kids buy the perfect holiday gifts for their families– a great, fun day that the kids thoroughly enjoy!
Hospitality works to make sure that all school-hosted events are properly furnished and that our teachers and personnel are appreciated throughout the year.
The Library Committee is an essential function in our school. Our library runs on an all-volunteer basis. Shelving, tracking, ordering books, displays and working with the teachers to make sure we are properly stocked are a few of the important functions of this committee.
Memorial Day Parade

Write press releases, coordinate photography and help promote the Winthrop community.
School Spirit Day
Organize Field Day at the close of the school year. A fun day of activities for the kids, culminating in a Faculty versus Fifth Graders kick ball game!
Help organize the Winthrop School for the Citywide Science Fair: setup, judging, refreshment tables, guiding students.
This committee solicits, tracks and presents grant applications from teachers/administrators. The PTO then votes on projects and provides funds for these “targeted” projects.
